Using these reports is quick and easy. There’s no complicated software to install, or programs to set up. Simply view the report on your computer screen and enter your choice of weight values in the spaces provided for the five variable factors, click “Calc” and your new, unique CompuBet ratings will appear! And they will automatically resort, with the best horse on top! If you want to create more than one variation, simply print the report, change the variables, and print it again, as many times as you like!

To make your desired weighting adjustments, simply enter values from 0 to 15 in each box. Using the default value of 5 will produce the same ratings as our regular reports. Inserting a value of 0 basically eliminates that factor from consideration, and entering 10 will double its value, 15 will triple it’s value. And you may use anything in between, including decimals!

There is a possibility that modifying the weight of five important variables could affect the best bet ratings. A horse picked on top by CompuBet with a “PRE” of 100 is considered a best bet. It is possible that your changes might push such a horse to second or third position in the ratings, and of course the “PRE” of 100 would no longer apply.

Although our standard ratings reports are based on solid and consistent handicapping principles and data, CompuBet PRO provides the user with the ability to react when there is a shift in the handicapping balance. Sure, we’ll catch up with it in a matter of days, or possibly a week or two. But if there is a shift, or some sort of bias on a given day, we want our users to be able to react immediately and make the minor adjustments necessary to maximize the power or CompuBet. The theory is simple, the mechanics are easy to use. Each report starts out exactly the same as our basic report. The difference is that there are five interactive categories (class, speed, pace, post, jockey/trainer) that the user can adjust to alter the final ratings of each horse. In each category, the standard weighting factor is “5″ and you can set those values based on your own preference to any value between “0″ and “15″. A value of “0″ effectively eliminates that category completely from the mathematical formula. A value if “10″ doubles its importance, and a value of “15″ triples its importance. And you can use any value between “0″ and “15″ including decimals. Once you’ve made your changes, simply click the “calc” button and the ratings will recalculate and resort, so that you’ll now have ratings customized by your own individual preferences.

When and how should you make these adjustments? How can you achieve the greatest advantage using these new reports?

I offer two suggestions for your consideration. The first is to concentrate on a particular track of your choice. Download a CompuBet Pro report and set the variables several different ways, printing the report each time, so you’ll have several unique reports to review after the races are run. Doing this for several days, using weighting variables you establish, will tell you which variables produce the greatest success. This method obviously requires the investment of your time, but as with any proven handicapping technique it will pay dividends!

The second method is to download a report and monitor the results of the live races in progress. As you see trends develop throughout the course of the race card, you can react to it. Maybe the weather is bad, or it’s windy, or there is an influx of horses, trainers or drivers not normally part of the racing scene at a particular track. These things can have an immediate impact on the importance of speed, post, drivers, class, and form! After a couple races you can see the shift. You can see that had you emphasized this handicapping factor or that, or minimized another, you would have hit the tri, or the winner, or the exacta. Whatever your betting strategy is, it is important to identify the contenders, and to isolate the key horse.
